Journalist World Wars

War Photography is something I chose to photograph because I wanted to learn the truth. After years of working during the covert war in Guatemala, I went to Iraq as a contract photojournalist. First I must include that I think a lot of people get wrong what a photojournalist actually does. In my experience, I am usually the person discovering the story, the person finding a different more humanistic side of the story and the person listening empathetically. There are always two sides and as a trained cultural anthropologist I feel that I have an educated advantage and I at least try to be objective when I hear their stories. No one can be completely unbiased because we grow up with ideas we have formed but we must try to put ourselves into the lives of others to understand. It's my job to explain and to create curiosity in my viewers so that they too may seek the truth in the story. Yet I've learned that no matter what I show others will find their own mirrors in each image. So be it that is what makes us the humans that we are.

 1. Email me and explain what you would like to discuss. Leave me a phone number and specific times to call you back. You can also keep it on email if you aren't ready. 

2. I am enthusiastic to hear your plans and respond to you. 

3. Ask me any questions on your mind. I answer plainly and transparently

4.  I give you options.  We agree on what is best for your situation. 

5. We agree on dates.

6. I send you a contract.

7. You sign the agreement and send me the retainer.

8 I countersign the agreement.

9. We are in agreement. Yay!

10. I am enthusiastic to photograph your special day, your project, and your advertising. 



 There is no obligation to just talk so be sure and leave a phone number. I love photography and brainstorming ideas.
 Depending upon whether it's advertising photography, a portrait, or you want to join a travel photography trip to Guatemala, or Cuba I will try my best to work within your reasonable budget.  

I give discounts for outdoor 1-2 hour engagement sessions. Boudoir prices are listed on www.lalaboudoir.net along with photos. All international photography journeys are created as purpose-driven to photograph and to give to those we visit.

During our Travel Photography trips, we incorporate photojournalism ideas to tell the story of our trip so that when you go back home you have creative images to share with friends and family.

Unlike a photography tour, we purposefully intend to help others in our host country while creating amazing photography stories.
