About Sherrlyn
Photography has taken me far beyond where I ever imagined it would to vilages and communities shaped by conflict, hardship, hope, and incredible resilience.
Some of these journeys were carefully planned. Others unfolded in ways I can only describe as God's hand at work, opening doors I never could have opened on my own.
Along the way, I've learned that no matter our culture, race, or religion, we share so much more than what separates us. Everywhere I've traveled, I've found people who love their families, hope for peace, and long for lives filled with purpose and faith.
Today, I'm passionate about sharing that perspective with others. Through Laughing Planet Journeys, I lead small-group experiences that aren't about checking destinations off a bucket list—they're about connecting with people, serving where we can, and seeing the world through a different lens.
Those same lessons inspired me to invite others to travel with me to photograph genuine moments and make friendly, authentic connections

I earned my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oregon and my M.A. in Communications from Ohio University. Today, I call Oregon home, where I photograph portraits, the occasional wedding, and a variety of other assignments. But if you ask me what I enjoy most, it's wandering the streets with my camera, capturing authentic, unplanned moments that tell the stories of everyday life.
